Our PurposeLocal communities are facing unique times. A generational shift in leadership and workforce. Low rates of election competitiveness. Slowing revenues and tight budgets. We respond by taking an asset based approach to organizational and human development, thoughtful questioning of the status quo and determined solution-seeking. Above all, our work is motivated by the optimistic power of people and groups working together. |
Our ValuesWe value efficiency and effectiveness in organizations and creativity and compassion in relationships. Public service is a trust as well as a challenge, and our work is about fulfilling our responsibilities and our potential. Partnering together, we rise to meet our challenges and opportunities.

About Susan HockenberryAn experienced administrator, educator, facilitator, and coach, my emphasis is on lasting, caring working relationships--not reports that sit on the shelf. In addition to the good fortune to learn from many individuals, two experiences have greatly influenced me . In 2007, I completed the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders at Stanford University. This informed my approaches to governance, strategy and engagement. In 2018, I embarked on a professional coaching practice through the Duquesne University Palumbo Donahue School of Business. These life-changing experiences have influenced my world view and developed my ability to help individuals and boards discover the potential within themselves. An appreciator of idioms and jingles, my rallying cry is "Don't wait for an emergency to emerge!"
